So you think you want a rabbit?Unwanted rabbits are on the increase as people buy them without realising the time and energy needed to care for them properly: Rabbits are very social creatures and must be kept in neutered pairs or groups. They are also active and inquisitive animals and need space and stimulus to keep them healthy and happy. Most of the rabbits we have brought into us are initially depressed and in poor body condition. The owners sadly admit that they have kept the rabbit on its own in a small hutch at the end of the garden. They can appreciate they have made a mistake. It's then our job to bring the rabbits back to health, neuter them and find them suitable partners. We advise potential adopters about how to care for them properly, housing and exercise space, toys and nutrition.
